About the tour

The Pollux, standing at 4,092 meters above sea level, is a prominent peak located northwest of the Castor in the Monte Rosa massif. This climb offers a mix of ice and rock terrain, making it a thrilling adventure for climbers. The Pollux can be reached via the Zwillingsjoch pass, situated between the Breithorn and Lyskamm. This climb is accessible from the Klein Matterhorn lift station, allowing it to be completed as a day trip or part of a multi-day tour.

Pollux can be climbed in both summer and winter. In winter, it’s often combined with a ski descent over the Schwarztor. The climb itself takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and features a moderately challenging section with a difficulty level of 2. Despite its relatively short duration, the ascent demands a good level of fitness and climbing skill, making it suitable for those looking to experience the majestic beauty and challenge of the Swiss Alps. It's a good preparation tour before climbing the Matterhorn.
